Roy Adam Bouch

Roy Adam Bouch, 94, of Rossiter, PA died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital, Punxsutawney, PA.

The son of Miles Orville and Elizabeth (Snyder) Bouch, he was born on June 16, 1921 in Sidney, Banks Twp., Indiana County, PA.

Roy served as a PFC in the US Army during World War II. His tour of duty involved overseas campaigns in Normandy; Northern France; Rhineland; Ardennes and Central Europe. Among his commendations, he received the EAME Theater Service Medal with five Bronze Stars.

He retired from New Enterprise Stone & Lime of Roaring Springs, PA.

Roy enjoyed collecting antiques. He liked going to flea markets with his late wife, Velma, where he would buy and sell items. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Roy was a member of the Rossiter American Legion.

He married his wife the late, Velma (Lowmaster) Bouch, on August 22, 1946 and they shared fifty-four years of marriage together until she passed away on January 30, 2001.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Marlene (Decker) Lowmaster of Glen Campbell, PA; his Goddaughter, Leah “Button” (Lowmaster) Huey and husband Ken of Rossiter, PA; his two Godgranddaughters, Krista Huey and fiance Ryan Gearhart and Kendra Huey; his Godgreatgranddaughter, Rylen Huey and his many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Velma; his nine brothers and sisters: Earl Fulton; Edith Neal; Merle “Ike” Bouch; Leslie “Curly” Bouch; Walter “Johnny” Bouch; Donald “Bill” Bouch; Edna Bartlebaugh; Esther Pearce and his infant brother.

A 10:00 a.m. memorial service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Pleasant Hill United Brethren Cemetery in Gaskill Twp., Jefferson County, PA with Pastor Kendra Balliet officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Glen Campbell American Legion.

Arrangements are with the assistance of the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA.
