Ruby Catherine (Thomas) (Emery) Knapp, 91, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, while a resident at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehab in East Palestine, OH.
Ruby was born on February 5, 1930, to the late Ivan and Sylvia (Bowser) Thomas in Cadogan, PA.
On June 28, 1947, Ruby married Alvin Glenn Emery Sr. They spent 53 wonderful years together, Alvin preceded her in death in 2000.
Ruby married Reid Knapp on August 2, 2003; Reid preceded her in death in 2017.
Ruby worked for many places including Fairbrook, Sylvania, and Brookville Glove.
In addition to her other jobs, Ruby’s favorite job was a homemaker and being home with her children.
She was a member of the Emerickville United Methodist Church.
Ruby loved people and always had a smile on her face.
She loved to crochet, doing crossword puzzles, and watching her “boyfriend” Tom Selleck on the TV show, Blue Blood.
She was also an amazing cook.
Ruby is survived by four children; Judy Metzler of Crockett, TX; Linda (John) McKinley of Brookville; Alvin (Carol) Emery of Brookville; Marsha Henry of Columbiana, OH; five grandsons; Chris (Tomi) McKinley; Nathan (Polly) McKinley; Travis Henry; Trent Henry; Shawn Farwell; one granddaughter; Lori Kline; and 11 great – grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Ruby is preceded in death by three brothers; Albert Thomas; Everett Thomas; Edwin Thomas; and two grandchildren; Jenny Emery and Robert Farwell.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 10am – 12pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825.
A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing beginning at 12pm and officiated by Pastor Gary Sheesley.
Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Emerickville United Methodist Church, 13345 US-322, Brookville, PA 15825, or to the First United Methodist Church, 205 Jefferson St., Brookville, PA 15825.
