Russel Lee Frantz

Russel Lee Frantz, 68, Brooksville, Florida, died on Thursday, August 7, 2014, in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Russel was born Feb. 28, 1946, in Foxburg, a son of the late Edward Milton and Pheobe (Guthrie) Frantz.

On Dec. 31, 1986, he married Frances Roxanne Frantz (Bhe).

Mr. Frantz was a veteran of the U.S. Army and received his Associates of Engineering from Penn State.

He was a hard-working man who always had something to get done.

He always had a good joke or story to tell. He loved his “NO” button.

Russel and Roxanne enjoyed visiting family and casinos.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Roxanne; six children, Lt. Col. Russel Lee Frantz, Jr. and wife Jayanne of Ohio, Michael Paul Frantz of Texas, Shelley Frantz Abel and husband Doug of Michigan, Buffie Lynn Winfrey and husband Terry of Florida, Nadine Suzette VanWassehnova and husband Gary of Michgan and Kip Charles Bennett and wife Melannie of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Carol Adamczyk and husband Anthony of Big Run, and Dolores Delrosso and husband Anthony of Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Bill Guthrie and Millard, Chuck, Eddie, Jim and Paul Frantz; and three sisters, Emma Jean Lucky, Mabel Wajteck and Annabelle Painter.

Friends are welcome to join the family at Camp Little Leo for a Celebration of Life on Sept. 6, 2014, from 2 to 4 p.m.
