Russell G. London

Russell G. London, 67, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, February 8, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born October 18, 1956, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Delores D. (Burkett) and Irvin M. London.

On July 14, 1984, he married Renda J. (Plyler) London, who survives.

Russell was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School class of 1974.

He was a farmer all his life, beginning with dairy farming until 2016 and switching to raising beef cattle.

He was a member of the New Beginnings Church of Punxsutawney and served on the Board of Directors for Patron’s Mutual Fire Insurance Company.

Russell enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Renda, he is survived by two children, daughter Kara Smith and husband Ryan and son Corey London and wife Shannon, both of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Damien Smith, Brianna Smith, Ali Smith, Alyssa London, and Jase London; two brothers, Meade London and wife Linda of Punxsutawney and Scott London and wife Leanne of Idaho; and two nephews, Shannon London and wife Amanda and Shawn London and wife Dana.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Amber London and a brother Doug London.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the New Beginnings Church in Punxsutawney with Pastor Devin Wintermyer officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Punxsutawney.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mr. London, to the New Beginnings Church, 2785 Walston Road, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
