Sally Hollopeter Bowman

Sally Hollopeter Bowman, 67, of Cranston, RI, died Monday, September 20th, after a 16-year courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 11th, 1954 in Rockton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Boyce and Madeline Hollopeter.

She is survived by her two children: Jason Bowman of Boston, MA, and Robert Bowman of Austin, TX.

She was preceded in death by her older sister Susan Ayin of Aiea, HI, and leaves four siblings: Mark Hollopeter of Columbus, OH, Edna Bloom and David Hollopeter, both of Rockton, PA, and Brenda Rushe of Greensboro, NC.

Sally trained in college as a classical pianist, then entered the field of banking, earned an M.B.A. while working full-time, and rose to a national position.

Given the health needs of her two sons, she left banking to homeschool them and also ran a busy piano studio.

Once her sons were both in college, she returned to the business world as a national large bank examiner for the U.S. Treasury Department, retiring in 2018.

She was beloved for her huge heart, wit and humor, dedication to helping others, and ability to talk and connect with anyone she met.

In addition to work, caring for her family and friends, and serving others, Sally had many interests that in part included music, reading, politics and theology, and gardening.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 6-8PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A private family funeral will be held from the funeral home the next day.

Burial will take place in Rockton cemetery.
