Samuel “Sam” H. Bailey

Samuel “Sam” H. Bailey, 74, DuBois passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born December 16, 1946, in DuBois, he was the son of the late Howard and Emilia “Minnie” (Barchony) Bailey.

On October 7, 1967, he married Candice “Candy” Dormire in DuBois. She survives.

Sam graduated from the DuBois Area High School, class of 1964.

Sam worked for Montgomery Wards, Lorillard Tobacco Co., Riverside Markets and Prudential Insurance.

He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.

He was a member, past president, and membership chairman of the DuBois Lions Club and a member of the DuBois Area Jaycees.

His greatest passion was traveling to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Sam also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, taking trips to the casino in Salamanca, and attending festivals.

In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by three daughters, Christine A. Bailey, Denise M. (Chris) Pickett, and Tara L. (John Krippel) Craig; three grandchildren, Madison, Kayla, and Hannah; a sister, Beverly J. (Joseph) Volansky DuBois, and a nephew, Steven (Lynette) Volansky, DuBois.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Joel Volansky.

There will be no public visitation. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Catherine of Siena Church on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with the Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

Interment will take place in St. Catherine Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adamson Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, DuBois.
