Sara “Sally” Shaffer, 74, Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at McKinley Health Center.
Sara was born September 13, 1941 in Brookville, PA. She was the daughter of the late James E. and Norma Jane (Brosius) Pierce.
Sara was married to Donald “Colonel” Shaffer; he preceded her in death in 2010.
Sara is survived by three children: J.D. Shaffer of Punxsutawney, Joe Shaffer of Rochester Mills and Mrs. Ed (Katie) Kimble of Brookville; and two grandchildren, Chelsea Shaffer of Punxsutawney, and Taylor Kimble of Brookville.
Sara attended Summerville Schools before graduating from Brookville Area High School. She was employed at Brookville Glove Factory and then T.A. Truck Stop in Brookville.
Sara attended Alliance Church in Punxsutawney. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren her pets and living on the farm.
In lieu of flowers family suggest donations to the donors choice.
A Memorial service will be held at the Punxsutawney Alliance Church, 1262 South Main Street ext. on Saturday December 5, 2015 at 7 PM.
