BERING STRAIT – A message in a bottle that had been left in the ocean by a sailor on a fishing boat from the Soviet Far East fishing fleet 50 years ago was recently discovered just north of the Bering Strait.
The Alaskan man who found the message used social media to find help translating the Russian letter, which was dated June 20, 1969.
