Say What?!: Libraries Share Details of Decades Late Books

UNITED STATES – Several libraries across the nation and the world have recently shared cases of books that have been returned decades overdue.

While Sunnyvale Public Library in California, Memorial Middle School library in Fair Lawn, N.J., and the Flint Public Library in Michigan have all had books returned over 40 years after their due dates, the Donegal County Library in Letterkenny, Ireland, took the top place with a copy of The White Owl, by Annie M.P. Smithson, returned 82 years beyond the listed due date.
