Say What?!: Google Glitch Leads to 144 Emergency Calls in Italian Town

BAUNEI, Italy – Tourists on the island of Sardinia are being warned not to use Google Maps after local officials fielded 144 emergency calls over two years from people who found themselves stranded or lost by bad directions.

The town has posted signs on local roads, in both Italian and English, to warn people not to rely on Google Maps to navigate the area due to the ongoing issue.
