TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK, Kenya – The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya recently shared the story of the unexpected birth to a zonkey: a hybrid of a zebra and a donkey.
A female zebra that was rescued by the trust after wandering out of Tsavo East National Park gave birth to the unusual foal.
Experts note it is “highly unusual” for a zonkey to be born to a wild zebra.
