Say What?!: Flyer Charged $1,200 for Airplane Access to Email

SINGAPORE, Asia – A Toronto man got the shock of his life when he received the bill for reading his emails this week during a trip on Singapore Airlines: $1,200.

“I had an otherwise enjoyable flight,” ruined by the “sticker shock of being gouged $1200,” blogged Jeremy Gutsche, founder of online trend site Trendhunter.

The bill, which came up on Gutsche’s cell phone at the end of the flight, covered 155 page views, mostly of emails, he noted.
