SABULA, Iowa (EYT) – A massive pile of insects has caused a bridge connecting Iowa and Illinois to close by literally blocking traffic.
Thousands of mayflies, said to be “piled knee-deep,” closed the bridge between Sabula, Iowa and Savanna, Illinois last Saturday night.
No one was injured as a result of the occurrence.
