LOS ANGELES, California – An Alaska Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Portland, Ore. momentarily returned to its departure gate after a passenger was stung by a scorpion.
Flight 567 was taxiing to the runway the woman was stung. Medics treated her at the gate and she did not return to the plane.
Flight attendants sprung into action, found the scorpion and killed it. Crewmembers then checked the plane for any other unwanted creatures. A spokesman for Alaska Airlines said the flight took off about an hour later.
