Say What?!: Thousands of ‘Blue Sailor’ Jellyfish Wash Up on Florida Beach

10399679_1718265131753214_6391473354833034381_nHALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Thousands of non-harmful jellyfish washed up onto a Florida beach on Thursday morning.

The city of Hallandale beach shared a message about the jellyfish, known as “Valella” or nicknamed “Blue Sailors,” along with photos of the scene to Facebook.

“This AM thousands of small jellyfish washed in to our beach covering the shoreline and prompting continuous questions from beach patrons,” they wrote. “This happens about every three years.”
