Senior Spotlight: Punxsy’s Emma Wingert to Study Nursing at Saint Francis

With graduation ceremonies being affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic, Explore Your Town, Inc. and several area businesses have teamed up to help recognize local high school seniors. Today’s featured graduating senior is Emma Wingert.

Tell us about yourself: I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing with my dog, and being with family and friends. I work at a local restaurant with my best friend in between working on my college classes!

School activities and sports: Soccer 8-10, Yearbook Staff 10-12, Future Health Services Club 8-12, Art Club 11-12. During my senior year, I was the editor of Yearbook Staff and president of the Future Health Services Club. I also volunteered for the blood drives for FHSC, volunteered at the Special Olympics, and played Powder Puff football both years.

Awards: High Honor Roll, academic student standing

Favorite teacher: Mrs. Weaver

Favorite subject: Anatomy & Physiology

Favorite memories from school: Running around school getting pictures for the yearbook, art class with Mr. Young & Mrs. Young, the start of our variety show practice, and making this year’s yearbook special for our senior class.

Future plans: Attend Saint Francis University for nursing.

Advice for future students: Be kind & have faith in yourself.

Pets: A dog and 3 cats

Favorite bands: I don’t have any favorite bands, but basically any country singer!

Favorite movies: Honestly, Hacksaw Ridge

Who is your favorite celebrity or athlete? David Spade, he is hilarious.

What is your least favorite cafeteria food? I always packed my lunch in high school.

Is cereal soup? Why or why not? I think it’s just cereal.

Toilet paper, over or under? Over

Thank you’s: My mom, dad, sisters, grandparents, Logan, and Logan’s family. Also Mrs. Weaver, Mr. Wos, Mrs. Green, Mr. Hayden, Mrs. Young, and Mrs. O’Leath.
