Severe Weather Expected for Jefferson County, Surrounding Areas Today

flash-1455285_1280JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to hit Jefferson County and surrounding areas today.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook issued early Monday morning by the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh warns of possible severe weather in Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Clearfield, Forest, Indiana, Jefferson, Mercer, Venango and several other counties throughout Pennsylvania.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms, some of which may be strong to severe, will cross the region with a cold front today. The primary threat is damaging wind, but large hail and isolated tornadoes are possible.

The treacherous weather is expected to start around 11 a.m. and continue through early evening.
