Sharon Leone Grose

Sharon Leone Grose, 69, of Big Run, died Friday, December 12, 2014 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born on January 14, 1945 in Crestline, Ohio, a daughter to the late Lester and Vivian (Nolder) Bausch.

Sharon served in the United States Navy.

On May 26, 1990 she married Roby Junior Grose. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2014.

She was a familiar face of the Big Run Bank, which she had worked over thirty three years through many changes of ownership such as Citizen’s Keystone, Integra and most recently Marion Center Bank. She took pride in her work as teller and customer service.

Her enjoyments were her family, grandchildren, her dog Sophie, cooking, feeding and watching the birds.

She was a member of the VFW Post #9044 in Big Run and the American Legion.

Sharon is survived by six children, Cathy Hake and husband Harold of York, Theresa Bowser and husband Dan of Punxsutawney, Karen Burkett and husband Dan of Punxsutawney, Stan Derise and wife Heather of Big Run, Philip Derise and wife Amber of Whidbey, WA, and Glenn Grose and wife Mindy of Punxsutawney; Eleven grandchildren, Matthew, Benjamin and Danielle Bowser, Jenica Burkett, Jeffrey Grose, Amanda Wetzel, Riley and Aiden McLaughlin, Mary Schwartz, Hannah Hughes and Vivian Derise; five great grandchildren, Blake and Emma Burkett, Ruby Grose, Evan Sproat, and Annabelle Wetzel.

Preceded in by her husband Roby, her parents, three grandchildren, Bailey Lynn Bowser, Bradley Grose and Devin Burkett.

Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Dawn Krishart.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Grose’s memory to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Road, Falls Creek, PA, 15840.
