Shirley N. Heitzenrater, age 89, of DuBois, passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 at Christ the King Manor.
Mrs. Heitzenrater was born in Reynoldsville on June 4, 1925; daughter of the late Lula I. (Thomas) Guthrie.
She worked at Cameron, Punxsutawney Sportswear, Rossiter Shoe Factory, and Vista Village Apartments throughout her life before retiring.
Mrs. Heitzenrater was a member of the Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Survivors include sons: Ralph Heitzenrater of Everett, WA and wife, Robin of San Diego, CA, and Gary Heitzenrater and wife, Linda, of DuBois, PA; grandchildren: Colby, Gabe, Randa, Richard, Shannon, Amy, Creig, Corey, Sherry, John, Gary Jr., and Kellie Kosko of DuBois; seventeen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Heitzenrater, whom she married December, 24, 1942 in Oliveburg; mother; sisters: Almeda, Hannah, and Edith; brothers: Raymon, Clair, Blair, and Clyde; and daughters: Carolyn Wildauer, Donna Minns, and Deborah Walls.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10:00 am with Pastor Kevin Orndorff officiating.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, April 3,2015 from 3-7pm at Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc.
Interment will be at Lakelawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Christ the King Manor, 1100 W. Long Ave. DuBois, PA 15801 or Temple Baptist Church, 590 Lincoln Dr. DuBois, PA 15801.
