Shirley P. Davie of Springville, NY, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville at the age of 91.
She was born July 5, 1929, in New Kensington, PA, a daughter of the late Paul and Vivian (Kelly) Vandervort. She was a member of the Riceville Community Church in West Valley. She enjoyed camping, traveling, painting, baking and decorating cakes.
She was a cake decorator and had worked at Carol’s Cake Decorating in Dubois, PA.
Her husband, George W. Davie who she married on December 7, 1947, in Dubois, PA, passed away on December 15, 2009.
Shirley is survived by her children, William (Shirley A.) Davie of Rydal, GA, James (Susan) Davie of Collins, Linda (Ronald) Klahn of Springville and Rodney (Lori) Davie of Springville; her siblings: Garnet Jacobson of Dubois, PA, and Robert Vandervort of Springville; also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her friend and companion, Robert Juul.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her siblings: Belva Straus and Paul Vandervort.
Friends may call on Friday, January 22, 2021, from 6-8 PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
