Sigel Couple Allegedly Choke, Strike Each Other in Domestic ‘Brawl’

ELDRED TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Sigel couple are facing criminal charges after they allegedly choked and struck each other during a recent domestic “brawl.”

According to court documents, Marienville-based State Police filed criminal charges against 29-year-old Rodney Neal Allshouse, Jr. and 28-year-old Jenni Elizabeth Allshouse, both of Sigel.

State Police say this incident occurred around 5:24 p.m. on August 23, at 8481 State Route 949, in Sigel, Eldred Township, Jefferson County.

According to a criminal complaint, Rodney Allshouse and Jenni Allshouse entered into a verbal argument at their residence. The verbal argument started in the downstairs and quickly moved to the second floor; the verbal argument then turned physical.

The complaint states that Rodney was in the bedroom, and he closed the door on Jenni. Then, Jenni allegedly kicked the door open, breaking the door frame to the room.

The two were allegedly wrestling around when they rolled down the stairs to the first floor near the front door. “Rodney was choking Jenni, and Jenni was choking Rodney.” The physical altercation continued out onto the front porch of the residence. Rodney was able to hold Jenni down when they were broken up by a neighbor, the complaint indicates.

Sometime during “the brawl, Rodney was punched in the face, and he received a bloody nose and a cut lip. He also had marks on his neck,” according to the complaint.

The complaint states that “Jenni was hit in the head where she received a large lump. She also had scratches with redness around her neck.”

Both individuals were arraigned at 9:15 p.m. on August 23 in District Judge Greg Bazylak’s office on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

They are free on $20,000.00 unsecured bail each.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, with Judge Bazylak presiding.
