Sigel Woman Escapes Injury in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 28

Blue flashing sirens of police car during the roadblock in the cREDBANK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred around 7:22 p.m. on December 9, on State Route 28, at its intersection with Township Road 688, in Redbank Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 71-year-old Donna L. Smith, of Fairmount City, and 22-year-old Brittany E. Selker, of Sigel, were involved in the collision.

Police say this crash occurred as a 2013 Mazda CX2, driven by Smith, was traveling north on Route 28. Smith attempted to turn left onto Third Avenue in the village of Alcola.

Selker was traveling south on Route 28 in a 2002 Ford Explorer and was unable to avoid hitting the Mazda as it was turning, according to police.

The Mazda came to a rest in the southbound lane of Route 28 facing east, and the Ford Explorer came to a rest in the southbound lane of Route 28 facing southwest, police say.

Both drivers were using seat belts, and no injuries were reported.

Smith was not cited, according to police.

Hawthorn Fire Department assisted at the scene.
