Slippery Rock’s Zimmerman, a Punxsutawney Grad, Named Second-Team PSAC West in Baseball

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Ty Zimmerman, a Punxsutawney High School graduate and a junior outfielder at Slippery Rock, is a second-team All-PSAC West performer via a vote by the league’s coaches released Thursday.

Zimmerman, the Slippery Rock leadoff hitter, posted career-highs in runs scored (49), doubles (16) home runs (seven) RBIs (27) and walks (14) while batting .348 and leading The Rock in runs scored and doubles while producing 18 multiple-hit games as well as a .408 on-base percentage. He was the only Slippery Rock player to start all 49 games this season.

Slippery Rock went 13-36 this season including 8-20 in the PSAC West.
