Snow-Covered Roads Cause Crash in Oliver Township, Driver Injured

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225OLIVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred on Barton Chapel Road, at its intersection with Doverspike Road, in Oliver Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 20-year-old Shaina L. Reddinger, of Punxsutawney, was traveling east on Barton Chapel Road and attempted to stop at a posted stop sign. Her 2011 Chevrolet Equinox slid through the intersection of the snow-covered roadway.

Police say the vehicle struck the embankment along the east side of Laurel Ridge Road with the left front corner causing minor damage. The vehicle became stuck in the ditch facing north.

Jefferson County EMS transported Reddinger to Punxsutawney Hospital for a minor bump on the head caused by the side curtain airbag.

She was using a seat belt.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Kuntz Motors.
