Snow-Covered Roadway Leads to Crash on Route 899

BARNETT TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a driver slid off a snow-covered roadway and into a ditch early Wednesday morning on State Route 899 in Barnett Township.

According to Marienville-based State Police, around 5:44 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 21-year-old Jacob M. Terwint, of Marienville, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer south on State Route 899, just south of Bear Run Road in Barnett Township, Forest County.

Police say Terwint was attempting to negotiate a left curve in the snow-covered roadway when the vehicle slid off the road into a ditch along the southbound side.

Terwint was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

The vehicle was disabled in the crash.
