Snow from PennDOT Plow Truck Causes One-Car Crash in Union Township

Police car lightsUNION TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, an accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, at its intersection with Route 949, in Union Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 60-year-old Timothy J. Pierucci, of Brookville, and 50-year-old Francene M. Salvucci, of Ellwood City, were involved in the crash.

According to police, Pierucci was traveling in a 2013 International Harvester PennDOT Plow Truck and plowing Route 949 overpass over I-80. Snow came off the plow, traveled over the overpass, and struck Salvucci’s 2014 Nissan Altima as it was traveling eastbound on I-80 in the right lane.

Francene Salvucci and two passengers – 49-year-old Dominic A. Salvucci, of Ellwood City, and a 9-year-old female, of Ellwood City – were using seat belts, and no injuries were reported.
