Snow, Slush Causes Tractor-Trailer to Jackknife on I-80 in Washington Township

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) – No injuries were reported after a tractor-trailer jackknifed on Interstate 80 in Washington Township early Tuesday morning.

According to DuBois-based State Police, this crash occurred at 3:29 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, on Interstate 80 west, in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a 2021 Mack Truck driven by 49-year-old John A. Feist, of Dundee, MI, traveled from the right lane to the left lane before losing control due to driving in the snow/slush on the left side of the roadway.

The tractor-trailer subsequently jackknifed and came to an uncontrolled final rest, blocking both lanes of travel.

Feist was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Police were assisted on scene by Friendship Hose Company No. 1, PennDOT, and Bigler Boyz Towing.
