Sondra L. Senott

1584117_profile_pic[1]Sondra L. Senott, 77, of Hill Street, Rossiter, died suddenly on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born on March 13, 1938 in Punxsutawney.

Sondra was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Punxsutawney Area High School, having also attended the Rossiter High School until it closed in 1955.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the United States Postal Service for seventeen years. She was a member of the Rossiter American Legion and the Italian Sons and Daughters of America.
She was a faithful member of the Church of the Resurrection, where she sang in the choir.

Sondra was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She lived everyday to its fullest and saw the best in every body and every thing. She enjoyed going to the Casino with her family, working Sudoku’s and crossword puzzles, gardening, and spending the winters in Myrtle Beach. But most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends at her family camp.

She is survived by George J. Senott Jr., her husband of 57 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Shelly Janocha and husband Jim of Rossiter, PA; Melissa Spack and husband Tim of Rossiter, PA and two sons, David Senott and wife Beth of Pittsburgh, PA and Douglas Senott of Harrisburg, PA. She also leaves eight grandchildren who were the delights of her life; Noelle Janocha of Irwin, PA; Lauren Janocha, Ashlee Spack, Luke Janocha, Seth Spack all of Rossiter, PA and Alexa, Paige, and Chase Senott of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by a brother, Joseph Daniel and wife Paula of Hummelstown, PA and brother-in-law Donald Senott and wife Bridget of Rossiter. She will also be missed by her aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rose (Melvin) and Joe Basile.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015 and from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2015, at the Church of the Resurrection with Father E. George Saletrik officiating.

Interment will be in Church of the Resurrection Cemetery, Rossiter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 960 Penn Ave #1000 Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or to the Rossiter Fire Company.
