Sophia M. Strano, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, November 5, 2014, in Baytown, Texas.
She was born April 6, 1923, in Adrian, a daughter of the late Frank and Leokadia (Yanoski) Moskowski.
On August 7, 1943, she married Angelo R. “Ange” Strano, who preceded her in death on April, 6, 2013.
She was a member of the Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church of Punxsutawney.
She worked as a clothing inspector for 20 years but was mainly a housewife who had a passion for cooking. She loved to cook for her children and grandchildren.
Surviving relatives include two children, Richard “Dick” Strano and wife Joan of Hutchinson, KS, and Robert “Bob” Strano and wife Tamra of Baytown, TX; Four Grandchildren; Ten Great Grandchildren; and two sisters, Josephine Sultana of Florida and Mildred Kalin of Detroit, MI.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed Moskowski and Henry Moskowski; and two sisters, Cecelia Sebastian and Bertha Moskowski.
Friends are invited to attend a service at 11 a.m., Monday, November 10, 2014, in the Masoleum at Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Strano, to S.S.C.D.
