STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – SpikesFest 2017, presented by Mount Nittany Health and WTAJ-TV, brings the State College Spikes’ signature brand of summer fun into the Penn State Indoor Multi-Sport Facility this Sunday, March 5. Admission and parking are free.

The Spikes, as the defending champions of the New York-Penn League, will bring the NYPL championship trophy to SpikesFest, and fans taking photos with the trophy can get the chance to win two choice seats for Opening Night on Monday, June 19.

To enter, all fans need to do is post their trophy photo on social media with the hashtag #SpikesFestChamps and tag @statecollegespikes on Facebook, @SCSpikes on Twitter, or @state_college_spikes on Instagram. Once everyone is entered, one lucky fan will be randomly drawn after SpikesFest to win two tickets for Opening Night.

Plus, the Spikes will present a silent auction of sports memorabilia and entertainment experiences with all proceeds to benefit the Mount Nittany Health Foundation. The auction will feature a number of affordable Spikes prize packages, as well as collectibles from across the sports landscape.

Memorabilia items up for bids include jerseys autographed by Jack Ham and Le’Veon Bell, a Steelers mini-helmet signed by Antonio Brown, a photo collage of Penn State’s epic “Block Party” victory over Ohio State at Beaver Stadium this past fall, a soccer ball signed by Penn Stater and Women’s World Cup champion Ali Krieger, and many other one-of-a-kind items.

SpikesFest 2017 will feature plenty of activities for kids as well, including free Spikes inflatable games. Little Spikes can take their swings inside the batting cages at the Multi-Sport Facility, and have the chance to meet Ike the Spike, the BB&T Nookie Monster, LuCKy the Lion and several more mascots.

In addition, SpikesFest will feature kids activities and displays from the Center for Arts and Crafts at Penn State, Discovery Space of Central PA, the Mid-State Literacy Council, Centre Bulldogs Youth Football & Cheerleading, the Juniata Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Centre Soccer Association, Soccer Shots, State College Lion Youth Football, the March of Dimes, Mind, Body, Art School of Dance, CenClear Child Services and more. The Nittany Dreamers Baton & Silks Corps will also entertain fans with a special performance at SpikesFest 2017.

The Penn State All-Sports Museum will present baseball games and activities throughout the event as well, and fans can get information on Penn State Baseball’s 2017 home schedule.

Fans will also be afforded the opportunity to purchase ticket packages for the 2017 season, including two limited-time specials available through March 10. The SpikesFestSuite Special allows groups to book a suite during the 2017 season at a discount and with free food and beverages via Spikes Meal Deals already included, subject to availability. The 2017 Spikes home schedule begins on Monday, June 19. The Spikes, Short-Season Single-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, will defend their New York-Penn League championship over 38 games featuring fun, affordable family entertainment through September 7.
