State Fire Marshal Rules Truck Fire as Accidental

investigationWASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Ridgway-based State Police say a fire that occurred on Beechton Road, in Washington Township, Jefferson County, has been determined to be accidental in nature.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Brockway Fire Department investigated a fire at a residence at the above described location.

A 54-year-old Brockway man’s vehicle became involved with the fire when it was parked too close to a fire that was burning in an outdoor fire ring, according to police.

The cab of the vehicle was consumed, police say.

Damage to the vehicle – a 1997 Chevrolet 3500 series work truck – totaled approximately $30,000.00.

There were no suspicious circumstances.
