State Grant Money Will Fund Jefferson County War Memorial Projects, Waterline Work

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — The Jefferson County Commissioners approved an agreement with the state for over $300,000 in grant money.

The grant agreement with the state is for fiscal year 2016 for $331,996 in Community Development Block Grant funds.

The money will go toward the following projects:

Work to Begin Next Week at Former Days Inn Site

Jefferson County Development Council Executive Director Brad Lashinsky reported that work is expected to begin next week at the former Days Inn site off Allegheny Boulevard in Brookville.

Legacy Trucking bought the site and announced plans to build a 35,000-square foot facility that will start off with about 20 to 25 employees and anticipate growing to around 35 to 40 in 12 to 18 months.

The next county commissioner’s meeting will be at 10:30 a.m., August 22. The jail board meeting will follow at 11 a.m.
