State Police Calls: DUI, Crash

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Bell Township

Around 8:35 p.m. on August 8, Punxsutawney-based State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Pontiac G6 at a location on Rikers Road near Greenhouse Road in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the driver, identified as a 27-year-old Punxsutawney woman, was taken to the Jefferson County Jail on an active bench warrant from Elk County.

The name of the driver was not released.

Crash in Young Township

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 8:30 p.m. on August 7, a two-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 119 just west of Hilldene Lane in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a 2002 Mercury Marquis that was traveling south on State Route 119 slowed down for a vehicle turning left, and a 2001 Audi A6 that was traveling south behind the Mercury failed to slow down and struck the Mercury from behind.

No injuries were reported and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.

The name of the driver was not released.
