State Police Calls: Furnishing Drug Free Urine, DUI, Harassment

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following calls:

Furnishing Drug Free Urine in Pine Creek Township

Around 1:34 p.m. on September 3, Punxsutawney-based State Police were notified by Jefferson County Probation that 32-year-old Benjamin Snair, of Punxsutawney, had attempted to furnish drug-free urine during a drug test administered by probation.

The incident is under investigation.

DUI in Sandy Township

DuBois-based State Police say around 6:54 a.m. on September 4, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for a speed violation on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township.

According to police, upon making contact with the driver, a strong odor of burnt marijuana was noted coming from the vehicle, and the passenger then admitted to having drug paraphernalia, and turned it over to police.

Police say both the driver and the passenger admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day. The driver was then asked to undergo field sobriety testing and showed signs of impairment. The driver and the passenger were then placed under arrest, a search of the vehicle was performed, and additional marijuana was found in the front passenger area.

Charges against both individuals, identified as a 34-year-old man from Warwisk, Rhode Island, and a 32-year-old woman from Warwick, Rhode Island, are pending.

The names of the individuals were not released.

Harassment in Winslow Township

DuBois-based State Police say around noon on August 28, two brothers got into a physical altercation at a location on Saxon Hill Road in Winslow Township, Jefferson County.

The investigation is ongoing.
