DUI in Washington Township
Around 10:38 a.m. on October 5, DuBois-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner on Interstate 80 in Washington Township, Jefferson County.
Police say the driver, identified as 24-year-old Dorian Williams, of Philadelphia, displayed signs of impairment of a controlled substance and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.
Charges are pending drug test results.
DUI/Drug Possession in Bell Township
Around 12:06 a.m. on October 4, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a silver 2020 Toyota on State Route 119 in Bell Township, Jefferson County, for a registration violation.
Police say while engaging the driver, identified as a 28-year-old Big Run man, they detected a strong odor of raw marijuana in the vehicle and also observed indicators of suspected drug-related impairment.
The driver was asked to undergo field sobriety testing and was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.
According to police, a probable cause search of the vehicle yielded a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is ongoing.
The name of the driver was not released.
Forgery in Rose Township
Punxsutawney-based State Police received a report of fraud/forgery that occurred on October 5 on Thrush Road, in Rose Township, Jefferson County.
