State Police Calls: DUIs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Punxsutawney Borough

Around 2:13 p.m. on January 16, Punxsutawney-based State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Clark Avenue in Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, for a moving violation.

Police say during the stop, the driver appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.

The name of the driver was not released.

DUI/Drug Paraphernalia in Knox Township

Around 10:57 a.m. on January 14, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 Jeep Liberty on East Bellport Road in Knox Township, Jefferson County, for an inspection violation.

Police say during the stop, the driver, identified as a 39-year-old Brookville woman, showed signs of impairment and was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. The passenger, identified as a 34-year-old Reynoldsville man, was taken into custody for possession of drug paraphernalia, false identification to law enforcement, and outstanding warrants.

The names of the individuals involved were not released.
