State Police Calls: Mailboxes Smashed, Rollover Crash on Route 219

CLEARFIELD CO. Pa. (EYT) — Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to the following calls:

Bell Township mailboxes smashed

Several Mahaffey residents had their mailboxes smashed during an incident last week in Bell Township.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, an unknown person(s) struck the mailboxes of five residents located between Banner Ridge Road and Passmore Road between 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, and 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 27.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call PSP Punxsutawney at 814-938-0510.

Rollover Crash on Route 219

According to police, around 6:50 p.m. on Friday, July 28, Peter Abromvich, 53, of Cherry Tree, was driving a 2005 Subaru Outback south on Route 219 in Bell Township, when he lost control on the wet roadway while rounding a curve. His vehicle crashed into an embankment and rolled over on its side.

He was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.

Mahaffey Fire Department and Mahaffey EMS assisted at the scene.
