State Police Calls: Accidental Shooting Under Investigation

JEFFERSON/CLEARFIELD CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Punxsutawney Borough

Around 2:36 a.m. on January 18, a 2013 GM Acadia operated by a known 40-year-old Punxsutawney woman was stopped for summary traffic violations at Church Alley and Ridge Avenue in Punxsutawney Borough.

Police say the woman was then determined to be under the influence.

Charges are pending in District Court 54-3-01.

Accidental Shooting in Bradford Township

According to Clearfield-based State Police, a known victim suffered a superficial single gunshot wound to his left arm around 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, at a location on Egypt Road in Bradford Township, Clearfield County.

Police say the victim fell asleep while holding his handgun, which then discharged accidentally, striking him in the arm.

The victim then transported himself to Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital for treatment.
