State Police Calls: Assault at the Jefferson County Jail, Criminal Mischief

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – The Pennsylvania State Police responded to the following recent incidents.

Assault at the Jefferson County Jail

Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to an assault at the Jefferson County Jail on April 8 around 5:30 p.m.

Police said an inmate – 31-year-old Matthew J. Watson – is accused of punching a 57-year-old inmate in the face, breaking his nose.

Charges have been filed in district court.

Lock Cut on Storage Unit

DuBois-based State Police said someone cut a lock on a storage unit located along Storage Boulevard in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, sometime between April 6, 2018, and April 10, 2018.

The perpetrator(s) fled in an unknown direction.

The investigation is ongoing.
