State Police Calls: DUI Arrest, Minor Accident in Parking Lot

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following calls:

DUI Arrest in Young Township

Around 2:05 p.m. on April 12, Punxsutawney-based State Police received a report of an erratic driver on State Route 36, along with a description and registration information of the vehicle, described as a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier.

Troopers were then able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle in question on North Main Street/Hillcrest Drive in Young Township.

Police say the driver, identified as a 38-year-old Timblin man, was put through standard field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the driver was not released.

Minor Accident in Young Township

According to police, around 10:06 a.m. on Monday, May 11, a 2013 Buick Enclave was pulling out of a parking space in the parking lot of the Walmart store in Young Township when it struck the front bumper of a 2008 Chevrolet Impala.

Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

No injuries were reported.

The names of the drivers were not released.
