State Police Calls: DUI, Death Investigation

state_policeCLEARFIELD/JEFFERSON CO. (EYT) – State Police responded to the following calls:

DUI in Sandy Township

PSP DuBois say around 3:34 a.m. on February 21, a known, 35-year-old Punxsutawney woman was stopped for a summary traffic violation on State Route 119 near the blinker light at Sheetz, in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

While speaking with her during the stop, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was evident on her breath, according to police.

The known female was subsequently arrested for DUI pending bloods results and other summary traffic charges.

The name of the suspect was not released.

Death Investigation in Bell Township

PSP Punxsutawney Station is investigating the natural/accident death of a 29-year-old Punxsutawney woman at a residence along Starlite Lane, in Punxsutawney, Bell Township, Jefferson County.

The incident occurred at 7:00 a.m. on February 20, 2016.

Police say the investigation is pending the results of the autopsy.

No foul play is suspected, according to police.
