State Police Calls: Harassment, Drug Possession

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – Area state police responded to the following calls:

Harassment in Ringgold Township

Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 1:16 p.m. on October 26, 59-year-old Mark Shaffer, of Timblin, and a known 63-year-old Mayport female victim were involved in a verbal dispute at a location on Reed Road in Ringgold Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, during the dispute, Shaffer spit in the victim’s face and damaged a Samsung cell phone screen, valued at $100.00.

Police say no injuries were observed or reported as a result of the incident.

Charges are pending through District Court 54-3-01.

Drug Possession in Punxsutawney Borough

Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated a traffic stop on a 2007 Jeep on Pine Street near North Alley in Punxsutawney Borough, Jefferson County, around 1:42 p.m. on October 4.

Police say further investigation then revealed a passenger in the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Alexis Corle, of Alum Bank, Pa., was in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Charges are pending through District Court 54-3-01.
