State Police Calls: Sex Offender Violation, Incidents of DUI

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) — Area state police responded to the following incidents:

DUI in Big Run Borough

Punxsutawney-based State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado near West Main Street and Mitchell Avenue in Big Run Borough, Jefferson County, around 2:37 a.m. on Saturday, November 19.

Police say troopers observed numerous moving violations before the stop.

According to police, the operator—a 29-year-old Punxsutawney man—showed indicators of impairment related to alcohol and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.

Charges are pending.

Megan’s Law Violation

According to a release issued on Monday, November 21, DuBois-based State Police are investigating a report of a Megan’s Law Violation in Snyder Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a known male sex offender failed to appear for verification by the requested deadline.

Charges are pending.
