State Police Holding Child Seat Safety Check Saturday in Punxsutawney


PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police will hold a free child seat check Saturday at the Central Fire Department in Punxsutawney.

The free seat check, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is part of National Child Passenger Safety Week. The fire department is located at 301 East Mahoning Street.

Parents and anyone who transports children are encouraged to attend to make sure the seats are installed properly.

Car crashes are a leading cause of death for children 1 to 13 years old. Many deaths and injuries can be prevented by proper use of car seats, boosters and seat belts.
