Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in Bell Township

Around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated an investigation into an incident of identity theft where an unknown individual filed for unemployment using personal information belonging to a 54-year-old Punxsutawney woman in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in Big Run Borough

Around 5:08 p.m. on September 7, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated an investigation into an incident of identity theft where an unknown individual filed for unemployment using personal information belonging to a 50-year-old Big Run man, in Big Run Borough, Jefferson County.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in Perry Township

Around 6:37 p.m. on Monday, October 11, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated an investigation into an incident of identity theft where an unknown individual filed for unemployment using personal information belonging to a 33-year-old Valier man, in Perry Township, Jefferson County.

Theft by Deception/Identity Theft in Perry Township

Around 5:07 p.m. on Monday, October 11, Punxsutawney-based State Police initiated an investigation into an incident of identity theft where an unknown individual filed for unemployment using personal information belonging to a 53-year-old Hamilton woman, in Perry Township, Jefferson County.

NOTE: Police say any individual who receives unemployment claim paperwork who has not made a claim is encouraged to contact the PA Fraud Hotline at 1-800-692-7469, as well as the PA Department of Labor and Industry, and the PA Office of Unemployment Compensation.
