State Police Release Details on Brookville I-80 Crash That Sent Woman to the Hospital

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – State police have released details surrounding a one-vehicle crash that sent a DuBois woman to the hospital early last week.

DuBois-based State Police said the accident happened on Monday, January 8, around 8:57 a.m. when Jessica D. Fuentes, 52, of DuBois, lost control of her vehicle while traveling west on Interstate 80 near mile marker 80.

Police say Fuentes’ 2012 Ford Fiesta traveled across the left lane and struck a concrete bridge rail with its front end and then traveled back across both lanes of travel, coming to final rest facing west on the north berm of Interstate 80.

Fuentes was wearing a seat belt.

She suffered suspected minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Penn Highlands Brookville for treatment.

At the time of the crash, the maximum speed limit on Interstate 80 had been adjusted to 45 miles per hour due to weather conditions.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage to its front end. It was towed from the scene by McPherson’s Auto Body.

Fuentes was cited for a traffic violation.

Brookville Volunteer Fire Department and Jefferson County EMS assisted on the scene.
