PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – A travel alert was issued by PA Department of Transportation indicating that a portion of State Route 3008 in the Punxsutawney area is closed.
According to Tina Gibbs, Community Relations Coordinator of PennDOT in District 10, State Route 3008 (Number Eight Road/Perry Street/Wehrle Way) is closed between the intersections of Diamond Road, Gresock Road, in Young Township and Delaware Avenue in Punxsutawney Boro.
The estimated reopen time is February 18, but pending repairs, it may be able to open sooner.
The closure is due to a sink hole.
