Stephen T. Gomola

gomolaStephen T. Gomola, 81 of Reynoldsville, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014 at his home.

Mr.Gomola was born April 29, 1933 in Delancey, then youngest son of the late Steve and Mary (Sivanich) Gomola.

He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores A. (Molnar) Gomola. Mr. Gomola was a veteran of the US Air Force where he was a Captain.

He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church. He taught and coached in the Detroit Public School System for 30 years. He was a PA All-Atate End in 1950 and was inducted into the Punxsutawney High School Hall of Fame.

He was a member of the Punxsutawney FOE, Reynoldsville American Legion and the 98th Air Refueling Association.

He is survived by two daughters; Ann Kempski and husband Gene, Christine Gomola Mullin and husband Patrick, four sons; Steve Gomola and wife Tracy, John Gomola and wife Debbie, David Gomola and wife Stephanie and Matt Gomola, one sister; Elsie Hettish, twelve grandchildren; Katie And Sarah Kempski, Quinn and Luke Gomola Mullin, Stephen, Mason and Ashton Gomola, Zachary, Hannah and Josh Gomola, Jacob and Maggie Gomola and his beloved dog, Duke. In addition to his wife Dolores, he is preceded in death by three brothers; William, Corneilus and Andrew Gomola and one sister; Mary louise Ference.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney where a memorial service will be held at 3 pm.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 am Thursday at the Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church with Fr. Simeon Sibenik as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine
Cemetery.
