Steven M. Slaughter

Steven M. Slaughter, 66, of Columbus, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 in Mt. Carmel West Hospital, Columbus. He was born April 30, 1949 in Washington Court House, OH.

Steven lived on a farm in his youth where he learned to drive a tractor at age 12. He also milked cows, plowed fields, and helped his father and grandparents take care of the farm. Steven was a 1967 graduate of Pleasant View High School. He enjoyed fishing, camping, picnics, reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with his family. Steven also enjoyed helping others, telling jokes, and making his friends and family laugh. He retired from Upper Arlington School District.

He is survived by his daughters, Dana Slaughter and Barbara (Michael J., Sr.) Howard, both of Columbus; his four grandchildren; his brother, Rex M. Slaughter; his sisters, Sandra K. Kilkenny, Kristina M. Dingus, and Kimberly A. Langhans; and his six nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman M. and Barbara (Gunsaulies) Slaughter; his wife, Freda Slaughter; his son, Steven M. Slaughter, Jr.; his nephew, Max W. Dingus; and his niece, Madalynn McKencie Harrison.
