Local Woman Injured in Hit and Run Crash in Oliver Township

Police sirenOLIVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say around 10:30 p.m. on December 14, a Strattanville woman was injured in a hit and run crash that occurred occurred on State Route 36, south of Hoffman Hollow Road, in Oliver Township, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, this accident occurred as a 1998 Acura ILX was traveling south on Route 36 when the driver – 29-year-old Christopher D. Reynolds, of Clarion – lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a right bend in the roadway.

Police say the car exited the southern lane of travel, crossed into the northern roadway, exited the eastern portion of the road, and struck the guardrail. Upon impact, the car spun until coming to a final rest facing west in the center of the northbound lane.

According to police, Reynolds fled the scene upon police arrival.

It is unknown whether Reynolds was injured.

A passenger in his vehicle – 19-year-old Jazmine M. Brown, of Strattanville – suffered minor injuries.

She was using a seat belt.

Jefferson County EMS assisted at the scene.

The car sustained heavy front end damage and was towed from the scene by MacPherson’s Towing.

Reynolds was charged with a traffic violation.
